Halloween Movies To Watch...

Ok, 4 days left until Halloween and I still haven't decided what I want to be yet.
(check back next Tues to see my costume of choice.)

However! I do know what movies I like to watch during the month of October to gear up for Halloween, and there's still time for you to get some viewing time in.

Hope you enjoy my list below and feel free to mention your favorites too in this post.
(My selections aren't in any particular order and I threw in some oldie movies too! =)

Age is Just A Calculation

Sorry I missed blogging last week---it was a birthday celebration week for sure...

My birthday was on Oct. 11th - & let's just say I turned the big "more wiser than ever age."  I'm a Libra but act more like a Leo I think, personally.  I hung out with fam & friends, saw a band in the city, bar hopped, & went to the movies.

So what do I think about birthdays?
I LOVE EM! This cow certainly doesn't worry about its age & just enjoys to live it up every year--heck-- EVERY DAY!

So my motto for you (especially the ladies) age really is just a number.  It calculates/determines just how long you've been on earth--doesn't mean your old.  It really is true when the saying gets passed around---"your only as old as you feel."

Here are some quotes I found that will help you understand this all and perhaps you can use as motivational boosters throughout your day....

Don't Walk & Text

I'm finding it increasingly hazardous to walk on sidewalks while weaving through people with their heads plastered to their phones.  Jaywalking may now be a safer alternative to this!

I know, its probably hard for you to fathom-- a cow walking on a sidewalk, but if you picked your head up from your phone, you might notice me!

In all seriousness, walking and texting has to stop!  Is there like a petition I can pass around, can tickets be issued because its just as dangerous as texting while driving.

The other day on one of my pizza deliveries, this chick (no, not an actual chicken--a girl), literally slammed head on into me and almost walked on my pizza pies that had spiraled into the air and splattered to the floor.  She was more interested in checking her e-mails or whatever the heck she was doing than care about a cow trying to do his job and delivery some freaken food!  Needless to say, I had to go all the way back to the pizzeria which was a 20 minute drive from the destination and get a new batch. I didn't get a tip either because I delivered the pies late!!!

Its happening all too frequently now.  You'll notice those that do the:

  • Walking, stoping in the middle of the sidewalk, then walking again routine
  • Walking sideways and stopping only when contact is met with another routine
  • Walking, looking up, walking looking up in such a hurried, freakish pace routine
  • Walking ridiculously slow as if your the only one on the sidewalk
  • Face - timing/skyping their relatives  and showing them the view around them including those they're colliding with routine
  • And the list can go on and on
Can't the video be viewed when your sitting down?  Can't that e-mail be answered when you return to your office or at least when you've stepped aside against a wall or something? Is it worth trampling over someone's feet, banging into their shoulders, or causing others to drop their belongings so you can stay forever trapped in media land?!?

Let's be vigilant people! Let's be respectful of others space! Do onto to others ya know?

Next time you have to be strapped to your phone while walking--just remember, you can cost someone's foot or a cow's income!

Ok, rant over! I'm good now!

Lata!

The Muppets Take Over ABC Network!

Greetings All!  As promised,  Moo Cowvin here delivering to you my review of the The Muppets.

The long awaited modernized version of The Muppets finally revealed itself to us last Tuesday September 22nd 2015 and it definitely didn't disappoint.  With its "Office" TV show like feel, The Muppets give us a "show-within-a show" presence with a single camera - documentary style of filming.  The series is its first ongoing prime-time network television series since Muppets Tonight aired in 1998.

Set in Los Angeles, we are following the everyday personal and professional lives of the Muppets as we enter the world of Miss Piggy as a fictional late night talk show host with all the other Muppets that work with and for her.  I love this concept of a female late night host, as I've been saying for years that  there needs to be one.  Never mind that this cow loves the ladies, its just refreshing to see this role of a late night host not be another male.  Let's see how well she does.

Last week's episode also marks the anticipated moment we met Denise, who happens to be Kermit's new girlfriend and also Head of Marketing on Up Late with Miss Piggy.  Kermit has been quoted that they met and hit it off because she was one of the people who had the idea for the Muppets to do a new show.  Kermit also admits he's got without a doubt,  "a thing for pigs because he finds their curly tails attractive."  I couldn't agree more...Denise is HOTTT!!! I don't know how Kermit does it--first a blonde haired pig and not a reddish-brown one! Damn he's lucky!!! So want to see where this relationship goes!

As we dig deeper into the episode, we find out what brought Miss Piggy and Kermit to their break up and why Miss Piggy didn't want Elizabeth Banks on her show. Bank's appearance also marks the beginning of many guest stars to appear, which will also make watching The Muppets even more enjoyable.  Just like  watching Tom Bergeron get excited when he was to fill a guest spot on Miss Piggy's show.

And finally, an issue that was raised on the show, that I find very serious and must be discussed more....Bears dating.  Its hard finding someone out there to begin with--heck its hard for me and I'm a cow! I can't imagine what Fozzie  Bear must be going through.   You hear a lot in the news, bears invading others backyards and diving in pools.  They get a bad rap! However for Fozzie's on screen girlfriend played by Riki Lindhome she is willing to see beyond all that.

I really thought it was cool that The Muppets went back to their roots and are hitting their target audience of 18 and older.  There aren't any inappropriate elements to the show, so kids younger can watch, but its definitely catering toward everyday experiences adults face, without being too awkward for children.

Okay guys, tonight-- 8am-Easter Standard time--another episode of The Muppets---Don't miss it!

I'm outta hea!

Taco Perfection 101

SUMMER IS 9 DAYS AWAY and you must prepare yourself...PREPARE to accept backyard invites and parties that you must plan for, and remember....they must be EPIC!!!

How can you make your first summer party invite or party creation of the year be outstanding?

MAKE SUMMER TACOS! It beats the cookie cutter mold of just bbq food,  potato salad, etc., plus there's more fun and interaction with those you invite with tacos!  = )

Ingredients & other items needed:

-Wraps
-Lettuce
-Shredded Sharp Cheese
-Tomatoes
-Olives
-Breakstones Sour Cream
- Chop Meat - 80/20 % of Fat
-Taco Bell Original Taco Seasoning (in a pack)
-Strainer
-Lots of Napkins
-Your Appetite!
-Wraps--Regular or Whole Wheat-for those looking out for their figure

Preparations:

-As the meat is browning in a frying pan, prepare and place in separate bowls, the lettuce--chopped up, cheese, sour cream, and if you wish tomatoes and olives (The more creative the taco--the beefier, and your summer party more rockin!)

-Once meat is browned and then drained,  add the Taco Seasoning (following other instructions from the seasoning packet)  Heat further until liquid is gone.  Place meat in a bowl.

***Please see image above on how to properly wrap your taco***

Buon Apetito!

When Mom Visits...

So Mother's Day went well, as well as it can be when your mom visits from another state.  Yep, Bessie flew in straight from Cali last Friday.  What? Yeeaaa. she's not too fond of her name either. You know how many times she got made fun of back in the farm days?  Oh, it was horrid!!!  "Bessie the messy" & "Bessie sat on Jessie."  Dark days! But my mom grew stronger from it! Bullying just stinks all the way man!

Anyhoo, we had a blast.  I showed my mom where I worked and she even made some of her own pizzas with the guys.  Of course, her visit didn't end without a few questions like..."When are you going to settle down?" & Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" You can tell by my face in this photo I'm calmly trying to get through the loving interrogation.  I tell my mom..."your only 4 yrs old for so long, I'm livin it up!"  (In cow years its like 20 for you guys.)

So I continue to just give my mom the old "Don't worry I got this," answers in my most cutest voice of course, and she just melts.  Look at her face here...she can't stay mad at me long.  She never could.  Gosh, when I was younger and I would raise hell, she actually got more mad at me for not being able to stay mad at me longer, than what I actually did in the first place to get her mad.  lololol I love it!!!

So what do we learn from our mom visits?  They love and care for us no matter what age we are and only want the best for us.  So when they come out with those zingers...just know its just their worry and concern  for us coming through. Just let it slide and show them the smile! Works every time! I will probably see her in the summer sometime...may go to Cali and catch some rays and waves!  Kudos to my friend Jimmy who took these photos.  I will introduce you to him soon.  He's a blast!

Alright guys, I gotta go! Catch ya later!
